Lupita Carrion, a senior at Austin High School, finished her high school bowling career with a third-place finish in singles and a fourth-place finish in doubles at the MSHSL state adaptive bowling tournament in Brooklyn Park. Carrion bowled a personal best score of 191 in the singles competition, which was good enough for third place. She also teamed up with Diana Mendoza Hernandez to bowl a score of 185 in the doubles competition, which was good enough for fourth place. Carrion is a member of the Austin Adaptive Bowling Team, which is coached by John Smith. The team is made up of students with disabilities who enjoy bowling. The team practices once a week and competes in several tournaments throughout the year. Carrion is a hard worker and a dedicated bowler. She is always willing to help her teammates and she is always looking for ways to improve her game. She is a valuable asset to the Austin Adaptive Bowling Team and she is an inspiration to her teammates and coaches. Carrion is proud of her accomplishments at the state tournament. She is grateful for the support of her family, friends, and coaches. She is excited to continue bowling in college and she hopes to one day compete in the Paralympics. Carrion's story is an inspiration to us all. She shows us that anything is possible if we set our minds to it. She is a role model for young people with disabilities, and she shows us that we can achieve our dreams no matter what challenges we face.
