Former State Champion Swanberg Signs to Bowl at Mid-Michigan College

Cheboygan High School senior and two-time state champion bowler, Mason Swanberg, signed a letter of intent to bowl at Mid-Michigan College on Wednesday, May 11.

Swanberg, who is a two-time All-State selection, was the Class C individual state champion in 2021 and 2022. He also helped lead the Cheboygan boys bowling team to the Class C state championship in 2022.

"I'm really excited to be joining the Mid-Michigan College bowling team," Swanberg said. "I've heard great things about the program and I'm looking forward to the opportunity to compete at the next level."

Swanberg will join a Mid-Michigan College bowling team that finished in third place at the NJCAA National Tournament in 2022. The Lakers are coached by former Olympic bowler, Dave Soutar.

"Mason is a great addition to our program," Soutar said. "He's a talented bowler with a lot of potential. I'm excited to see what he can do at the next level."

Swanberg is the son of Jeff and Tammy Swanberg. He plans to study business at Mid-Michigan College.

"I'm looking forward to the opportunity to get a great education and continue my bowling career at Mid-Michigan College," Swanberg said.
